I was doing a little fiddling around with the damage deck cards, and did some basic percentages on the four damage decks. Roughly speaking, the decks break down something like this, as far as what you can expect in damage.
The A deck:
0 damage = 32%
1 damage = 20%
2 damage = 17%
3 damage = 14%
4 damage = 8%
5 damage = 6%
"Big Bang"= 3%
MG & Rudder jams are about 12%; smoke, fire and engine damage is about 3%; and a crew hit is at about 6%.
The B deck is roughly as follows:
0 damage = 39%
1 damage = 28%
2 damage = 20%
3 damage = 9%
4 damage = 2%
"Big Bang"= 2%
MG jams are about 14%; smoke, fire and crew hits about 5%; rudder hits about 9%
C deck: (AA)
0 damage = 53%
1 damage = 6%
2 damage = 6%
4 damage = 6%
6 damage = 11%
8 damage = 6%
10 damage= 6%
"Big Bang"= 6%
Fire, smoke, crew and engine hits about 6% each.
D deck: (Anti Balloon Rockets)
0 damage = 38%
3 damage = 12.3%
6 damage = 12.3%
9 damage = 12.3%
"Big Bang"=25%
Fire about 38%

Young, Rodger W., Private, 148th Infantry, 37th Infantry Division (the Ohio Buckeyes); born Tiffin, Ohio, 28 April 1918; died 31 July 1943, on the island of New Georgia, Solomons, South Pacific, while singlehandedly attacking and destroying an enemy machine-gun pillbox. His platoon had been pinned down by intense fire from this pillbox; Private Young was wounded in the first burst. He crawled toward the pillbox, was wounded a second time but continued to advance, firing his rifle as he did so. He closed on the pillbox, attacked and destroyed it with hand grenades, but in so doing he was wounded a third time and killed.
His bold and gallant action in the face of overwhelming odds enabled his teammates to escape without loss; he was awarded posthumously the Medal of Honor. |
