So this is it, we're reduced to whatever thread we happen to start in this discarded wastland of the forum?
Fireborn forumites of old unite and see if we can't get a little more support.

At least you spent a decent amount of time as a god. :P
I barely got there, and then they apparently realized that a fifth of my posts are lies and knocked me back to 400. So close, and yet so far.
I also got to save my Phoenix stuff, thank god, and I have all of my virtual mods in a folder, on top of being on a Wiki somewhere.
Now we just need to wait for Pandy. :P
Edit: I just realized that that entire scenario would make a smashing game of Scion. :P

I've had the two main Fireborn books for awhile now, I really like the setting (have not had any practice with the system so I can't really comment on that.) I would love to give it a shot but I've never been able to get any of my gaming group interested. Any suggestions? How do you "sell" Fireborn?

What kind of games does your gaming group like/play?

Mostly D&D. Actually it a tough sell getting anything besides D&D into a serious campaign. We do play a number of one shot adventures, but I just couldn't get them interested in Fireborn at all.

Sounds like a problem.
Maybe you could play up the aspect of being a dragon, essentially? Make it out to be that the mythic age is essentially the atypical D&D setting, albeit semi-historical(Semi- being the key...thing). After all, what would happen to all the great wyrms when all the magic disappears?
Fireborn answers that.
Think of it like this;
Post-Apocalyptic D&D.
Instead of our world going to shit and a loose statehood of traders and things rising up, we have a D&D world going to shit, and a civilization based on technology springing up. Instead of irradiated areas, we have tainted areas, and instead of people thinking that the gods built ruins, we have people denying that the gods ever existed.

Maybe we should bomb the forum with alot of Fireborn topics so they just need a seperate forum. I think they do this because this game is dead in the sense that they don't support it anymore.
I have the books and want to try to GM sometimes, but I am inexperienced as a GM and want to be convincing.

I think the keyword here is interesting topics. We'll get exactly nowhere if we just spam the forum with bullshit.
What we need to do is post interesting topics, that deserve their own thread, and are worthwhile contributions. I'm assuming, on the assumption that FFG isn't going to stupidly deny an active game its' own forum due to print status, that they'd then give the Fireborners a seperate forum as to not swamp the Horizon, Blue Planet, and Dawnforge folks.
Frankly, I don't see it happening.

[snark]If anyone knew how to do that they would have told FFG and the game wouldn't have been discontinued[/snark]
On a more serious note, I'd recommend seeing if you can pick up The Fire Within adventure, or use one of the short adventures on the FFG website as a one shot to see if people are interested. You cold even bill it as a short term game while you wait for D&D 4E to arrive (if your group plans on picking it up, of course).
I'd recommend making sure that you are happy with the system before running it with a new group, and that would include running a few trial combats by yourself to make sure that you're happy with it. Nothing kills of a game for a new group faster than having to plough through the book every time a new question arises.
If you have any questions about the system or the setting we are always willing to help.

Of course.
I think we should try to mark the threads after the RPG system.
One example of topic could be: [Fireborn] User created sires

I love tagging. If it wasn't so amazingly user-dependant, and so few people were willing to mark them appropriate, I bet entire forums would operate as just one big board with different categories for the tags.

I'll go along with the [Fireborn] tagging idea.
I'm also posting a few threads to cover different topics like we had in the old forum so newbies will have somewhere specific to post questions and the like.

We shall defend our Fireborn, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender.
Or something like that, at least.
I'm going to see if I can convince Pandy to turn up here and contribute.

Does anybody knows if this game is distributed in Italy?
I do know that chances that one of you is Italian are little, but better to ask than renounce...

I'm rather preferential to "Trust not the marketer, the developer, the distributer. Silence the nay-sayer before he can speak his lies. Availability proves nothing."
...What, it's that obvious that I bought Dark Heresy? :P
Geki;
I don't think there were anything but English versions distributed in the USA and maybe England. Trev could tell you for sure about the latter, since him and the afore-mentioned Pandy bought copies.
If it wasn't there before, it definitely won't be now. There're bound to be copies available online and at the FFG Store, though.

Damn, I very liked what I read in the game's page.
Thanks, but expeditions are way too expensive, especially for a game I COULD like...

Igtenio has it right AFAIK.
If you wanted a copy you're best bet would probably be ebay, although I don't see any there at the moment. The PHB should come with an errata booklet, but you can ge tthe errata online anyway, and it's mostly FAQ rather than actual errata. You should try to get a copy of both the PHB and the GMG, but the PHB has all the actual mechanics, the GM book is just fluff.

For what it's worth, you might be able to get it for a decent price if you wait for one of FFGs' 5 Dollar sales. I believe the Fireborn books were available for it last time, and it'd greatly cut down on the cost.

My copy is still in the post - Amazon's Super Saver delivery times are getting worse!
I've heard mixed reviews. Some people say it's too gritty and others say it works well. I gather that most of the rules really are Warhammer Fantasy in space with all the good and bad things that entails.
What are your thoughts?

Hi there Trev
Got my copy of Darkheresy the day it came out and man do I like it ok it's a bit limited on career paths at the moment but it really has a good gritty feel to it.
I would imagine by now you know the line will be stopped after the next three books are printed (by end of September) but those three should be all you need.
A 3 part adventre book in March
The Inquisitors Hand book in June (more rules carrers etc)
And one on chaos in September ( a kind of monster manual come evil guy creation guide)
There is up roar over the closing of Black Industries but hell I got into the hobby to stretch my imagination not to have it all handed to me on a plate.
