I think the one time I had Fosters was in 88', in England, on an airbase. It was on tap, and the locals introduced us to it on tap...all I can tell you was that it was good. I can't remember the rest!
Nah! It wasn't really good it was actually bad, so bad that the chemicals in it scrambled your memory to make your recall believe it was good.
My first hangover was when I was 16 and yachting. It was caused from an extreme over indulgence of that dreaded liquid. Funny thing is I never got a hangover from any other beer...... well not that I can still remember.......See I told you it was bad, beer that clear and pale shouldn't give you a hangover.......... I only drank about a 2 dozen cans that afternoon and it shouldn't have sent me to sleep either.......
I tend to lean toward the darker beers now a days myself. The ones with what I call "full flavor", and my wife describes as "treebark"!

Was that you, or did anyone ever find out who Ryrie was? I lost track of that thread...
That wasn't me, it was a clone of me!
Nope never did get to the bottom of it! I could request the guys file opened at the Australian War Memorial, but I won't as I think its in bad taste to do it. His plane was chosen because Andrea found the Picture of his plane on the AFC web site with the caption that it was Lt Ryrie's plane, asked around what Lt Ryries full name was, then decided to add it as one of the miniatures and thats how it got there. I came in from the other direction thinking' "if they have this much info they must have more" but it seems they don't.
BTW did you see I added pictures to the B17 thread !

Regardless, here's to Lt. Ryrie. Thanks to him and all of those like him.
May they not be forgotten.
Cheers.

You are restricted to only using the side step maneuver cards
You could also add the Immelmann cards but the restriction is you have to play two Immelmann cards one after the other the maneuver is commonly known as a "Loop the Loop".
Interesting link. I'll check it out later, thanks!

No drunken flying, just tipping a glass of suds to the brave souls who did it for real.
Stoj, you're up kinda late, shouldn't you be studying...or sleeping!?! Old guys like me are counting on you youngsters to lead this country out of the mess it's in. You can't do that if you keep these kind of late hours!

Young, Rodger W., Private, 148th Infantry, 37th Infantry Division (the Ohio Buckeyes); born Tiffin, Ohio, 28 April 1918; died 31 July 1943, on the island of New Georgia, Solomons, South Pacific, while singlehandedly attacking and destroying an enemy machine-gun pillbox. His platoon had been pinned down by intense fire from this pillbox; Private Young was wounded in the first burst. He crawled toward the pillbox, was wounded a second time but continued to advance, firing his rifle as he did so. He closed on the pillbox, attacked and destroyed it with hand grenades, but in so doing he was wounded a third time and killed.
His bold and gallant action in the face of overwhelming odds enabled his teammates to escape without loss; he was awarded posthumously the Medal of Honor. |

I have been coming up with a way to fix the nation's economy...
1st we go back to the gold standard (we were better off)
2nd All cars are illeagal unless you need onw for a good reason, such as construction work, etc.
3rd in exchange for your car the gov't will give 1 moped for each member of the home. You can choose from 11 different colors.
4th take 70% of the money from the top 10% of the riches people in America, use that to buy other nations gold.
5th Buy up all the oil in the world no matter the cost. No matter the cost. Then resell it to the "developing nations" for 10 times what we bought it for.
6th as of 2010 a new law will be in place allowing only 1 child per family.
7th come up with better plans if 1-6 do not work
8th everyone in America get a free beer or 2 or 12 (this will distract people if all plans goto hell)

"On the morning of the 27 October 1918, this officer observed an enemy two-seater over the Foret de Mormal. He attacked this machine and after a short burst it broke up in the air. At the same time a Fokker biplane attacked him, and he was wounded in the right thigh, but managed, despite this, to shoot down the enemy aeroplane in flames. He then found himself in the middle of a large formation of Fokkers who attacked him from all directions, and was again severely wounded in the left thigh, but succeeded in driving down two of the enemy in a spin. He lost consciousness after that, and his machine fell out of control. On recovery, he found himself being again attacked heavily by a large formation, and singling out one machine he deliberately charged and drove it down in flames. During this fight his left elbow was shattered and he again fainted, and on regaining consciousness he found himself still being attacked, but notwithstanding that he was now severely wounded in both legs and his left arm shattered, he dived on the nearest machine and shot it down in flames. Being greatly exhausted, he dived out of the fight to regain our lines, but was met by another formation, which attacked and endeavored to cut him off, but after a hard fight he succeeded in breaking up this formation and reached our lines, where he crashed on landing. This combat, in which Major Barker destroyed four enemy machines (three of them in flames), brought his total successes to fifty enemy machines destroyed, and is a notable example of the exceptional bravery and disregard of danger which this very gallant officer has always displayed throughout his distinguished career." VC citation, London Gazette, 30 November 1918. |
