Looking for a fun family diversion this holiday season? Are you spending the holidays with your non-gaming relatives and you want to introduce them to an exciting game? How about taking your friends and family on a treasure hunt in an Egyptian pyramid?

The Adventurers: The Pyramid of Horus is a fast-paced, family-friendly game that takes mere moments to set up and explain. With only a few minutes of review, you and your fellow adventurers will be excavating and looting while dodging snakes and scorpions in no time.

Find the loot and get out alive

In The Adventurers: The Pyramid of Horus, two to six players enter a mysterious crypt in search of long-lost treasures. The player to emerge with the most valuable treasures is the winner. Be warned, because along with treasure, the tomb is filled with angry mummies, ferocious crocodiles, and other critters that could make your holiday celebration less than pleasant.

The suspense builds as you venture further into the burial site. The primitive ceilings will be collapsing all around you. The best treasures are waiting in the deepest reaches of the tomb, but the deeper you venture, the more likely you could become forever trapped. Step lightly, for the path back to daylight is constantly changing.

To aid in the excavation, adventurers will find equipment strewn amongst the dirt and dust of the dig site. A medi-kit or antidote can address wounds a player may receive, while a crowbar will come in handy when dealing with those pesky locks. Lucky searchers may even find a precious artifact that has been lost in the sands. Players will also have to weigh the option of gathering more treasure at the expense of speed, or remaining relatively unencumbered in order to move swiftly through the tomb. Grabbing lots of treasure may seem like a surefire way to win the game, but greed will slow you down as you try to escape from the buckling structure.

Additionally, each unique character has a special ability that will grant an advantage during the game. Maybe you want to be immune to damage from the creepy crawlers of the pyramid, or maybe you want to be able to dodge the falling rocks and debris. The choice is yours! With eight characters to choose from, you can find one that is tailor-made for your play style.

A daring new experience

Perhaps best of all is the replayability of the game. With multiple valid paths to victory, every game is different, and newcomers will be on a level playing field with more seasoned gamers. In this push-your-luck game, the more artifacts you grab, the slower you will move. Be careful! Don’t venture too far from the entrance if you're not prepared for the consequences.

If you’re looking to add an element of risk-taking thrills to the holiday traditions of food and football, or you’re simply looking for a casual game to try with your family, give The Adventurers: The Pyramid of Horus a try. And if you already own The Adventurers, why not play it at your next gathering?

The Adventurers: The Pyramid of Horus is a standalone board game of danger and exploration for 2-6 players. Descend into an ancient Egyptian pyramid to search for priceless treasure, avoid hidden threats, and escape alive before the pyramid crumbles down around you.
