Grimoires of the Thieves Guild 2
A downloadable variant for Cadwallon: City of Thieves
Cadwallon: City of Thieves | Published 28 October 2011

Cadwallon is a city of vagabonds and outlaws, but it is also a city of fantastically powerful magic. Seeking long-forgotten knowledge, brilliant mages experiment with elemental forces, recording their jealously guarded discoveries in lavishly bound grimoires. But what if these tomes of power fell into the wrong hands? What would happen if common (and not-so-common) thieves were armed with the arcane secrets of the magical grimoires?

Magic (pdf, 4.2 MB) is bonus downloadable content for Cadwallon: City of Thieves that adds four potent new Equipment cards to your gang’s race for loot! Featuring a range of magical effects and the variant rules to use them, Magic brings even more variety to your nightly illicit activities.

Wield the Power

Rare and highly coveted, Grimoires each hold a collection of four unique spells. The chaotic nature of magic is such that each gang can only control one Grimoire, but the gang member wielding it is promoted to the rank of mage, and takes on amazing extra powers.

Simply cast a spell by spending an Action Point and rolling a die, comparing your result to the difficulty threshold of the attempted spell. But beware! If you’re unable to control the magical energies you attempt to unleash, you’ll be cursed... costing you precious ducats at the end of the game!

Download Magic from our support page today, and expand your Cadwallon: City of Thieves experience!

Cadwallon: City of Thieves is a fast-paced board game of cunning thievery and ruthless skullduggery in a fantasy city steeped in magic and intrigue. Two to four players each control their own gang of four thieves, competing to amass the greatest haul of loot from the many carefully locked chests scattered about the city.

That's pretty cool.  Question:  when choosing the new Mission card from the deck, is it done randomly, or by choice?  The fact that you have to shuffle the deck afterward seems to hint that you get to choose, but it's not explicit.

Oh man. I am glad to finally see this available for download.

Any chance of getting the mini expansion prior to Magic in the support section for download? "Sauve qui peut" / "Run for your life"?
