Dust Tactics: State of the Game 9
The future is bright for this alternate-reality WWII miniatures board game
Dust Tactics | Published 29 July 2011

There has never been a better time to be a Dust Tactics fan. We are thrilled with how the game is going from strength to strength. The introduction of the new point system earlier this year met with a very positive response and an increase in sales. Dust Tactics has matured greatly with the release of two new campaign expansions, several new squads for both factions, and fantastic new walkers. The Revised Core Set is right around the corner, and we can tell you right now that you haven’t seen anything more than the vanguard. We are just getting started.

Next week at Gen Con Indy 2011 we will show off some new walkers that will send shock waves through the miniatures community. Miniatures players around the world will be buzzing about these amazing new models!

The current success of Dust Tactics has enabled us to take the next step with the upcoming release of Dust Warfare, which you can read about in our announcement article.

A string of victories

Dust Tactics grew bigger and better all throughout the last year. New unit expansions have introduced dozens of gorgeous miniatures, and players gained a wealth of tactical options from which they can build their armies. Two campaign expansions, Operation "Cyclone" and Operation “SeeLöwe,” have rounded the game’s rules depth, allowing you to launch artillery fire and direct your squads to take cover in buildings.

Our Game Night Kits have fostered league play, and players have been eager to get their hands on the preview heroes that will be available in future expansions. The community for this great game continues to grow. The first tournament season drew scores of enthusiastic competitors, and we’re looking forward to hosting the first ever Dust Tactics World Championship at Gen Con Indy 2011. The official tournament point system has been such a success and so well-received by our players that we’ve made it the game’s official system.

We’re just getting started!

The next year is going to be a blast for fans of Dust Tactics. The Revised Core Set will provide a superb entry point to the game for new players as well as exciting reinforcements for current players. You want cool minis? Wait until you open the Revised Core Set and see the Heavy Laser Grenadiers! In addition to a steady release of new units, we’ll soon be announcing another fantastic campaign expansion, as well as new tiles and heroes.

To top things off, players who stop by our booth in the Exhibit Hall during Gen Con Indy 2011 are going to have to pick their jaws off the floor once they see the new walkers we’re getting ready to announce. If the swarm of employees at Fantasy Flight Games that left their desks and huddled around these miniatures the moment they hit the office offers any indication, these new walkers are going to energize the miniatures community around the world.

There’s never been a better time to pick up Dust Tactics

The success of Dust Tactics helped make possible our launch of Dust Warfare. Now, players with Dust Tactics miniatures find them immediately useable for two separate games.

Even if you have no interest in the tabletop miniatures system, Dust Tactics will continue to grow with regular expansions, new campaign settings, new scenarios, and new tiles. The Revised Core Set brings the greatest concentration of fantastic miniatures to the game in one package since Dust Tactics first released.

World War II still rages in Dust Tactics, and you can look forward to more ferocious battles ahead!

Dust Tactics is a tactical miniatures game of brutal combat for 2-4 players. Based on the popular universe created by artist Paolo Parente, Dust Tactics presents an alternate 1940s reality in which alien technology fuels gigantic machines of war, and the world's superpowers clash over rare mineral deposits that could ultimately decide the outcome of WWII.

I love Dust Tactics!!! Keep the expansions coming, FFG! Let your imagination go wild. I'll take any and all walkers you release!! And don't forget to keep up with the infantry too! So far, I've bought every expansion and every unit, both Axis and Allies, you've ever release to date and I still see no reason to stop. So, don't stop :)

Cant wait to get the Revised Core set, I definately need more tank traps! LOL And Ammo crates LOL. Think I have enough tank traps to stage a miniature D-Day!

I hope the new walkers are similar to the older ones, I dont want the game diverging too much or getting supper sci-fi. Hopefully some of these new walkers are Soviet-Sino or Japanese or Majestic 12 or even Vril. I think 3-4 different "types" are more then enough per side with each type having several variant models.

How about some new fluff FFG? Some PDFs covering ASOCOM, Majestic 12, Axis fringe groups, SSR and so forth.
