| Runebound | Published 22 November 2010 | Rating | 30 votes |
The lands of Terrinoth seem to cry out for adventure...and adventure is never long to answer. Heroes and villains clash upon these lands to forge legendary tales that will live on in the campfires and bard’s songs of tomorrow. Many have come before you to set out on that open path, and many have failed. Do you have what it takes to become a legend of Terrinoth?
Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the Essential Collection for Runebound! This box of adventure contains six previously released expansions for Runebound, now available in one convenient and specially priced package. Featuring six single deck expansions, consisting of Adventure variants, Challenge cards, Items, and Allies, the Essential Collection is a great way to breathe new life into this beloved game of fantasy adventure.
The Essential Collection contains two new Adventure variants for Runebound, telling the tales of The Cataclysm and The Seven Scions. With cursed stars falling from the sky and the threat of the Stormlords invading Terrinoth, heroes are needed more than ever! Each of these Adventure variants are comprised of new game rules and new Adventure decks that replace the Rise of the Dragonlords Adventure in the core set. These expansions not only tell new stories, but they give players new objectives and alternate win conditions.
Also included in the Essential Collection are the Beasts and Bandits and Traps and Terrors Challenge card expansions. These two decks will add plenty of variety to your encounters and can be mixed in to the Adventures of your choice.
Finally, the Essential Collection also comes with two Item and Ally card expansions, Weapons of Legend and Rituals and Runes. These decks add new cards to your Market deck, featuring new Item types and dozens of new weapons, allies, and artifacts!

The Essential Collection is the perfect way to expand your Runebound experience, so don’t miss out on this adventure-packed deal when it arrives this winter!
Runebound is a fantasy adventure game for 2-6 players in which heroes race about the lands of Terrinoth in an attempt to prevent the resurrection of the evil Dragonlord, Margath. As they encounter the various creatures and traps about the countryside, they will gain new skills and may acquire an exciting array of allies, weapons, and armor to assist them.
Is there a list of the cards on all those expansion packs? Or the symbol which identified them?
I bought a few of those packs when they were released but I don't know exactly which ones I have.
I was recently thinking on buying the ones I didn't have and this box seems a good way to start, supposing I don't have most of the expansions that it contains.
Ahh - THANKS! I was going into the actual store to look for it... my bad!
It's here.
$29.95.

I don't know if I am doing something wrong?!?! But I cannot find it on the product page:
"The products page has it listed at $30 which is half the price of the single packs and because it's a single package you'll save on postage too, so this is a very attractive deal. If the remaining packs come out like this too I think they'll be great!" - Duke_of_the_Blood_Keep
Is it available for order yet?
It's a nice idea but it would be better if You could buy all the expansions plus the core set in one handy box.
I'm happy that FFG sterted with wave three, 'cause that's what my collection needs right now. Thanks FFG!
That should be [though kudos...], not "tough kudos."
Happy for the ones that need the packs. Hopefully not just a clever way to clear out excess inventory [tough kudos to FFG if it helps clear warehouse space] but rather a way to say RB is far from losing support, at least in the near future.
I just hope that they have added terrain symbols to the challenge cards so that they can be compatible with the Mists of Zanaga.
From the look and size of the Logo on the box I am guessing that the box size is a small expansion-sized square box, but deeper, with minor adjustments it will make a nice card storage solution.
Although I have all the packs from wave one, I do agree with the others, it DOES seem odd that they would start this collection with waver THREE. I can only hope that the reason is because it was easier to add the Zanaga Terrain symbols to the more recent card files? Or is it not even a reprinting issue, but rather a repackaging of overstock?
Either way, the store page says it is only $30 so this is a great deal, another win for FFG!

It's good to see continued support for RB, but like others I was hoping for the out of print or hard to get packs. Repackaging so many that are still available doesn't quite make sense unless the bundle is say 20% than the collective cost of the 6 separate packs (around $60 USD total). Even at $40 bucks, it might still not be that appealing if one already has half of them.
When I first saw this announcement I was very excited. I thought it would have some of the out of print packs I can not find (the ones that biomage mentioned). When I read through I was disappointed. Oh well maybe they will eventually release the other card packs in a collection set.
