Announcing The Black Sepulchre, an adventure for Dark Heresy |
| Dark Heresy | Published 19 November 2010 | Rating | 32 votes |
The hand appears to have a fraction of malign intelligence within it. It speaks to those it believes it can corrupt. Attempts to silence its voice have proven useless. Currently Savant-Militant Grendel is engaged in a struggle of wills with the dark entity that now takes home within. He is one of the fair few trained in the psychic arts required to hold the beast at bay. I have sequestered the acolyte Grendel in an airlock aboard the Righteous Indignation. I am monitoring him as I decipher Thrungg’s journal and should he lose control I will jettison him into the void and instruct the captain to purge his remains. It will not be a permanent end to the artefact, but it will buy us, according to my research, a thousand years and a day.
– From the correspondence of Binder Morgaine
When a decadent noble uncovers a heretical artefact of dark origins, the Inquisition is sent on an investigation from his palace to a lost fortress on a distant world. Can you solve the mysteries of the Haematite Cathedral before it’s too late, and uncover a conspiracy that threatens to set the Calixis Sector ablaze?
Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of The Black Sepulchre, an adventure for Dark Heresy! First announced in the Knowledge is Power product preview, The Black Sepulchre tasks Acolytes with solving the riddle of an ancient and powerful structure. In the process, they’ll uncover a truth so dark, the Calixis Sector may never recover from its discovery...
The Black Sepulchre is the first installment of The Apostasy Gambit, a Dark Heresy campaign that takes a cell of Acolytes from investigating the tragic history of a warped Cathedral to crusading against a conspiracy at the heart of one of the Imperium’s most vaunted organisations. The Black Sepulchre can be played on its own, or it can form a part of the grand Apostasy Gambit campaign. What’s more, this adventure is designed for all levels of play, so beginners and veterans alike can explore its varied paths to success!
Keep a vigilant watch this later this winter, and prepare to purge your friendly local game store!
Dark Heresy is a
roleplaying game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a setting in the grim darkness of the far future. Players take on the roles of Acolytes serving the Inquisition, rooting out heresy and corruption from within the galaxy-spanning Imperium of Man.
can't wait, had so much fun running the haarlock series
Next Gaming session I'm finally starting Haarlock's Legacy with House of Dust and Ash. And now I get the information on the next fine adventure waiting in line. Ouch, my wallet. But I cannot restrain myself from buying these books. And this one has a wonderful cover art. :)
I hope my Righteous Indignation dosen't suffer a hit!
So... am I to believe that Bucky O'Hare will make an appearance in this adventure? ; )
Did no one else catch it?
Damn, my wallet cannot keep up with all new books. But rest assured i will buy them all as fast as i can. (Can i haz teh win on lottery soon?)
Thanks for the answers... The Haarlock Legacy is a great campaign, and now that I think of it, you can consider it a campaign arc because it is quite extensive and epic,
One thing that could be cool, though I suppose very difficult to implement, would be a campaign arc covering the three systems, 3 books for Dark Heresy that lead into Rogue Trader, then 3 more books in Rogue Trader leading into Deathwatch and another 3 for Deatwatch... although I suppose by the time they reach some of the more advanced scenarios, with the rate of PC attrition, the group would be completely different than the initial one.
Cogollo: Look into the Haarlock Legacy. That's a long arc that takes place across 5 planets. It starts with an adventure called The House of Dust and Ash that's in Disciples of the Dark gods, and continues in 3 seperate books, Tattered Fates, Damned Cities, and Dead Stars
Cool cover, Who is the artist who makes the artwork, he is great!
As the "Knowledge is Power" release schedule shows cogollo, it's a trilogy.
Good piece of news... How many books is FFG planning for The Apostasy Gambit campaign?
And one wish/question for FFG... Does it make financial sense for FFG to publish a campaign arc, like the ones Paizo publishes for D&D 3rd edition?... I would not mind the books being softcover, but it would be great to have such greatly detailed products for Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader, or Deathwatch.
For Warhammer 3rd edition you already publish the books softcover, and the quality is really amazing, so I would love to see an epic campaign in the style of Enemy WIthin or, as I wrote before, the Paizo campaign arcs for D&D.
Says all levels of play.
Ooo, hey. I'm really digging the cover art.
