Announcing Code of Chivalry for BattleLore
Battlelore | Published 19 October 2010

The warhorns sounded and the riders took the ridge, resplendent in their colorful heraldry and shimmering steel. Knights they were, born for battle and eager for glory. In their wake, footmen rallied to their banners and soon the army was on the march. Behind this wall of galloping armor and longswords, none feared the battle beyond.

Fantasy Flight Games is honored to announce upcoming release of Code of Chivalry for BattleLore! Swell the ranks of your armies with this Human Army Pack, featuring knights, arbalestiers, and lancers.

Code of Chivalry comes complete with two new unit types as well as two unit types previously released in the Hundred Years War and the Scottish Wars expansions. These units will easily bolster the forces of any Human army, giving players more options during their BattleLore games.

Also included in this expansion are 6 new Call to Arms Deployment cards so players can customize their adventures. Rather than using the pre-constructed armies found in the adventure book, players can choose to use these Call to Arms Deployment cards to create an army of their own design.

Finally, Code of Chivalry comes with four new adventures to give players a knightly challenge for their new units!

Check back soon for more information on Code of Chivalry!

Set in a world that bridges history and fantasy, BattleLore is board game that puts 2 players in command of a vast array of miniature troops on the battlefields of medieval Europe. Using the easy-to-learn Commands and Colors system, players can wage thrilling battles quickly!

On the cover art...what's the deal with the crossbow bolts on the knights' shield?  Are they on fire?  This would be cool if there were rules for flaming arrows.

Having just got a mint copy of the core set on Ebay for less than the RRP :-) I am a very happy man at the sign of any new expansions..

However I would like some news on when (or if) the core set is going to be reprinted / re-released?

Fantastic!  Great stuff FFG.

My bold hope for Battlelore is that with the Army Packs released for the Dwarves, Goblins and Humans, FFG will announce a new base set with a full 'base' human army in it's own vision.  After this base armies for the Goblins and Dwarves so that the army packs can be retrospectively used to bolster the 'base' armies.  This would allow FFG to really create a unique architecture around the way the want Call to Arms to operate through the game.

Also - new armies, scenario decks of CtA cards or a campaign system using the CtA decks, new terrain, race specific hero packs...  all good.

However, my vision is probably wildly different from FFG - nevertheless, any news is good news!  Keep 'em rolling FFG!

Cheers,

Giles.

This sounds exciting to me, fleshing out the Humans with two new unti types and new Call to Arms cards- I love it.  This will certainly be on my purchase list.  And hopefully, with the Goblins, Dwarfs and Humans complete, FFG will move on to Torks, Elves and the like.

More info on the Bearded Brave would also be welcome from FFG.

I'm not sure where people are getting the "Battlelore Core set for $100+ on ebay."  Every time I check, I routinely see a BL core set on ebay top out the bid at around $55 or $65 + shipping.  My FLGS has two core sets still in stock for $80 + tax.  Doesn't look like much of a price mark up to me.

Regarding this release, It's nice but I'll skip it as I like complete Goblin and Dwarf armies but I have enough Humans already.  I agree that this release seems to complete the cycle.  I'm really interested in seeing what they release after this one.

May have to get this and turn some of my extra humans into a custom "evil human" army, a la a Warhammer Chaos Army minus the GW silliness...

I'd love to buy this, but I can't even get my hands on the base set; why bother. Of course, I guess I could $100+ for it on ebay.

Really, I think if FFG wants this game to move, it would be nice for prospective new players to actually be able to buy the game.

Pedro Lunaris: "I'm actually thinking we will see some expansion featuring some types of powder weapons."

Pls don't no firearms in this game. I dont want another Warcraft Whatever board game!

Just keep it coming. Undead! Something on Elven base.

I agree with GamesKnight. I think it's a great thing we are seeing releases for BL, of any sort. The annoucements are sure making the game have a little renewed focus. It's a great game and I'll love to see it expanded further than it has been before.

I'm actually thinking we will see some expansion featuring some types of powder weapons. This would be a path to differentiate the game from BOW, where the settnig remains with medieval weapons. It would be an interesting way to go.
