Greetings, Rogue Trader fans!
This week, the 40K Roleplay Department at Fantasy Flight games is proud to announce the 2010 Rogue Trader Adventure Contest!
This year’s contest is a special opportunity for you to contribute to the Koronus Expanse! Each adventure must also contain a short gazetteer (no less than 1,000 words and no more than 2,000 words) of a single planet, small celestial body (such as a moon or an asteroid field), or installation.
The winning entry’s adventure and planet will be posted on the Rogue Trader website and the planet will become part of the Koronus Expanse! We are really looking forward to seeing the great adventure and planet ideas for this year.

The winning entry will receive a brand new, personally signed copy of the Edge of the Abyss sourcebook when it arrives in our warehouse, in addition to recognition on the FFG web site. Also, the top three finalist scenarios will be made available for download once the finalists have been announced, so the fans can view them and play the best scenarios submitted.

Rogue Trader is a roleplaying game set in dark gothic far future of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players take on the roles of explorers aboard a Rogue Trader's ship, searching for profit and adventure while discovering new alien cultures and threats in the uncharted regions of space.
Gutted to have failed to comlete my entry on time, but at least my group will have something nice to play with when our current adventure finishes. Good luck to everyone who did manage to enter and can't wait for the results. Hope the chance to add to the Expanse in some way comes along again soon.
That was fun. I'd love it if submitters got a conformation that their adventure had been received.
Good luck everyone!
How important do you think the presentation is? I mean I could add images to make it look like a FFG publication, but will that have any impact on the judges?
@DrgnScorpion: Good question. I don't think it would matter so long as it is within the 40K universe (and acceptable difficulty for Rogue Traders!). There are good story elements on both the Deathwatch and dark Heresy sources.
I'm assuming the 2k gazetteer is part of the 10k total. Better err on the side of caution than be thrown out of the contest for flabby writing.
This book has helped me cut down on my flab: The 10% Solution
Good question on the Gazeteer being part of the word requirement.
Well, time for some then folks. I wonder if using creatures from Deathwatch will be frowned upon.
Hmm...intriguing. As I've only just recently entered the 40k fold - this may just be the kick I need to get back into writing again!
Hmm... so we will see three new worlds and three new adventures as the finalists are exposed. "Ausgezeichent" *tapping finger tips together*
Sweet! I was just working on a new adventure anywho. Can't wait to see what all everyone comes up with, good luck bro's and brodettes!
Id rather see a fan gazeetteer competition. But Ill break out my key board this weekend and see if anything strikes the mind.
Does the 2,000 word gazetteer count toward the 10,000 word length?
