The first large contingent of Dwarves came to France in late autumn of the year 1419. Supplemented from time to time with volunteers, these troops became an integral part of the French army and the war against the English. By 1420, the “Army of Scotland” was a distinct force in the French royal service.
Fantasy Flight Games is excited to announce the upcoming release of the Bearded Brave expansion for BattleLore. Featuring four new Iron Dwarf unit types, Bearded Brave is the perfect way to expand your BattleLore experience and call upon the aide of the mighty Dwarves!
Bearded Brave comes with six different types of Iron Dwarf units, each with their own miniatures and reference cards to be used when fielding them in battle. With 40 new figures, 27 cards, and a rule book featuring 4 new adventures, the Bearded Brave has no shortage of new materials for your BattleLore games! Keep an eye on the horizon and watch for your short-yet-stalwart allies: the Iron Dwarves!
Stay tuned for a closer look at the Bearded Brave in the coming weeks!
Set in a world that bridges history and fantasy, BattleLore is board game that puts 2 players in command of a vast array of miniature troops on the battlefields of medieval Europe. Using the easy-to-learn Commands and Colors system, players can wage thrilling battles quickly!
Fantastic! Well done FFG, thats coming to the party.
What bcwMD says is also very encouraging. I'm still haranguing my local supplier for Horrific Hordes as they couldn't get it originally and 'I wants it!' Keep them coming and you have my $$.
That's great, I love the Dwarfs, and I could get my hands on a Scottish Wars, so maybe I'll be able to play something more dwarven oriented (I couldn't pick Goblin Marauders and Skirmishers).
I wouldn't mind another human expansion. I came late to the came, and I don't expect to get the Hundred Years War. Or they could re-release it, maybe as an "expanded expansion" for a smaller Core Box.
But, yeah, if they eventually get to other races, it will be awesome!
I can't wait to get it in my grasp! I wonder what the equivalent Ogre would be for this expansion...
Somebody knows something about other fantasy creatures such as Undead Armies, Elves, etc...
Any sign of the core set being re-released? What is the story with it FFG?
This sounds like a good expansion and I will defenitely buy it.. Just hope they have better rules for the CTA-cards than the Horrific Horde had.
Richard and Rob confirmed at Gen Con that they're still working together on core BattleLore, but couldn't say anything more than that. But it means that Fantasy Flight hasn't given up on the system yet. And while the lack of info far in advance is a bit frustrating, remember that this marks the 3rd expansion this year, and the 5th since Gen Con last year, so things are still happening fairly rapidly.
Im still mission real expansion for Humans. So Hope its not the last one. The FFG can start with Elves and Undead :)
I know a lot of people are expecting expansions for other races. However, with this announcement, I feel that FFG has fulfilled all obligations to the fans. Everything else is above and beyond any expectations I had for Battlelore.
I'm so happy with this new announcment. Waiting for elves now, cheers
Dangit! Bear riding dwarves to match skills against my ostrich riders? Yes please. Can't wait to see the sculpts.
Finally! Great to see this. Now my Goblins will have some fresh butt to kick.
