As Dwarfs are notably resistant to magic and its influence, they have learned to harness its power by incorporating it into magic items. By etching beautiful inscriptions into stone or metal, they can convey a range of effects. Indeed, this ancient art places the Runesmiths of the Dwarfs among the most important individuals in their society. Much goes into the almost ritualistic crafting that produces these powerful artefacts, but those runes that carry destructive power demand an especially careful and steady-handed Runesmith.

Welcome to another card of the week spotlight for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game! With The Burning of Derricksburg recently hitting store shelves and March of the Damned still many weeks away, we’ll turn our attention to the next exciting Battle Pack in The Enemy Cycle, The Fall of Karak Grimaz.

Today’s card is one that’s certain to send smaller “rush” units, like those associated with the Orcs and Skaven, running for cover. The Master Rune of Spite can potentially clear all units from play; it forces each unit to turn its weapon on itself, dealing damage equal to its own power!

Such a powerful tactic is perfect for the Dwarfs for two main reasons. First, they can take a beating like this better than any other faction, due in part to the Toughness keyword (take Mountain Legion, for example).

Second, even if you do take out a few of your own troops, you can often use that loss to fuel other helpful effects (consider the potential synergy with the Great Book of Grudges).

On the other hand, look at the vast number of enemy units that will fall to this tactic: The Crooked Teef Goblins, Servants of Khorne, Savage Marauders, Clan Rats, Savage Gors... the list goes on and on. The Dwarfs now have a way to swat those pesky nuisance units that like to buzz around their mighty fortresses.

Each side is comprised of either the forces of Order or the forces of Destruction as they seek to extend their empire to include the entire Old World. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Battle Pack expansions to the core game.

 Love it.  Especially since it gives Dwarves another way to deal with their nemesis, the evil Deathmaster Sniktch. Evil, I tell you!

@qwertyuiop: Only when they are attacking. When not attacking they'll do 0 dmg. Since Spider Riders are cheap as hell, while Master Rune is 3DDD, Spiders can get a couple of rounds of attacking in, unless the Dwarves skip playing something on a turn, which would probably hurt them as the cheap rush just puts more meat on the menu.

This card rocks! I'm like playing with Dwarfs and this card make will be a great bonus in my Dwarf deck.

wow, great card

Having rangers and grudgebearers down would destroy your opponent even more, the grudgebearers could potentially gain a big boost to their power and the ranger would send a great deal of damage their way as well, and since all of the low health units would be dead, they would have to put the damage on their capital or bigger units.

Looking forward to this pack, dwarfs are my favorite deck to play.

Interesting Card, potentially deadly effect. I like the expanding of tactics to use with the Dwarves that this card represents, I have to admit to not being on the bandwagon for EVERY expansion thus far (it appears I will have them all soon enough however) but this one is one that I like the looks of from this one sneak peek alone!
