The Search is On! 5
Enhancements to FFG's website
News | Published 29 March 2010

It's been about 16 months since FFG introduced its new website to astounding success. While we are proud of the site, we've been intent on continually seeking improvements and creating useful additions to enhance both the enjoyment and functionality of the site.

Just a few days ago, we launched our new "search" feature (which can be accessed at the top of every page) with greatly enhanced user functionality and underlying search accuracy improvements. We hope that it will improve your user experience.

This upgraded feature is merely the start of a comprehensive set of ambitious FFG website enhancements coming over the next 4-5 months which we think that you'll love. Many enhancements are going to be implemented based on popular user requests, while others are really groundbreaking enhancements developed internally at FFG with our software partners.

Website upgrades are a good thing, for sure. But you better hurry up and add custom avatar uploading before I get too attached to the one I've been using!

Yes, searching the forums is still impossible. It will still search everything in every forum. Maybe I'm missing something?
It's a shame that FFG would state how great their searching is when they really didn't at all address what so many members have ask for in this exact area.
Their catalog is not so large that it can't be conveniently search manually. I don't see much added functionality yet.

Yes, searching the forums is often an exercise in futility, as it pulls every result from every possible board. I'm more interested in a useable forum search  feature than a regular site search.

I presume you mean the search box at the VERY top of the page which seems to be a very interesting feature for searching the FFG site and catalogue. Will the same to rolled out to Forum searches in future?
