BattleLore: Dragons has arrived at your local retailer
Battlelore | Published 01 February 2010
With a single breath, the fearsome dragon devastates its enemies and strikes terror into the hearts of all who behold it. In BattleLore: Dragons, your epic battle continues with a completely new and terrifying combatant.
This newest BattleLore expansion set brings three of these imposing creatures of legend to your BattleLore table top: the Ice Drake, Wood Wyvern and Fire Dragon.

Along with these stunning plastic miniatures each dragon has its own summary and breath attack cards, as well as enough breath attack tokens and creature banners for all three beasts.
The new rules for dragon breath attacks appear in the included rules booklet, and have been designed to be used with the updated Creatures rules for BattleLore.
In addition to the above you will find four new BattleLore adventures that highlight these new dragons, including one that makes use of the Epic Adventure Combat rules with all three dragons in play!

Set in a world that bridges history and fantasy, BattleLore is board game that puts players in command of a vast array of miniature troops on the battlefields of medieval Europe. Using the easy-to-learn Commands and Colors system, players can wage thrilling battles without a lengthy time commitment.

I will not be buying the Creatures box simply becuase I feel I am being fleeced when I already have all the promo figures. Yes the Dragons look cool and yes I'd like to add them but not at that cost and with stuff I already have through being a 'loyal' supporter early on. It feels a little money grabbing to me.

I agree with those saying more content, bigger expansions. The race army boxes to me seems a great idea and something I would hand over my hard earned cash for.

Im going to invest in RuneWars first. Batte Lore will remain a favourite but without the Dragons at this stage.

However the FF Events Centre looks COOL! I want to move to Roseville, Minnesota :-). It brings back fond memories of the Game Parlour in Chantilly, VA.

Yes, I too would like to see heartier and richer expansions.  I keep telling naysayers, Battlelore isn't dead.  Yet only 6 new minis between two expansions might kill it for half of the handfull of fans still out there.

This expansion is legit! The figures look awesome.  They're even more than I had imagined they would be.

I will be buying this, so my opinion may be moot.

That having been said, the $35 price point is pretty steep, especially when the company has another set with three more monsters due out soon. Why not just combine all that stuff into one box?

I just don't get it.

$35 does put this expansion WAY on the back burner for me, though...

I agree with Fragmaster. There are certain economies of scale in developing a comprehensive expansion for Battlelore. For one, packaging will cost far less if it goes into one box, the chances of a return on investment on the molds are greater with a big box as models which may not prove popular on their own (aka goblin skirmishers) are leveraged against more popular must have models such as mounted knights. Moving to a big box system would also streamline development costs and supply chain issues, while giving the consumer a greater sense of value.

There has also long been talk of racially aligned or thematic armies, and I would be much more willing to buy a "dwarven army pack" with the whole shebang, than 3 boxes of 50/50 goodstuff/nonsense, and no real chance to implement a complete goblin or dwarven army. I have 5 or 6 units of dwarven spearmen I never use because the call to arms system at this time does not adequately provide for such a thing. I know RIchard Borg is working on C and C Napoleonics, but it shouldn't take too much effort to implement such a change in focus, the basics probably already exist in some rough form, and it would streamline development of the game in my opinion.

Fragmaster is right, buying this expansion for 35$ feels like a rip-off.

Untill now i bought everything released for Battlelore, even two copies of the base game. Money in itself is not a problem for me. I´m willing to pay more than that for good expansions, but this is just to much for what you get.

And still no sign of a reprint of the base game...

That link to the creatures rules is dead. :(

I love BattleLore but DoW killed it with costly subpar expansions. I have high hopes for BattleLore's resurrection from FFG but if they continue the same route DoW took with the expansions then unfortunately BattleLore will not go very far, at least for me.

Please FFG! Please! Stop making these ridiculously low-content expansions for such a high price. All FFG fans know that FFG makes big box games, medium box games etc. Why not make a BattleLore expansion with a lot of content? Noone will complain if they pay a little more money and get more content.

The reasoning that people will not pay 60$ for an expansion is ridiculous. If you add the cost for Dragons and later Creatures it's 70$ and see what you get! It's absurd! Other FFG games with a 70$ price tag had so much more material than that that I can't help but wonder what a 70-80$ big expansion for BattleLore will have content and miniature-wise.

I really don't want to buy another low-content expansion, FFG. 3 figures and 4 cards are not going to cut it. My problem is not that I don't have the money, far from it. My problem is that buying this expansion for 35$ feels like a rip-off.

Unfortunately we have to suffer through BattleLore: Creatures (same low  content especially for people that already have the promo figures, same ridiculous cost) until a new BattleLore product is announced...

Here is hoping for a pure FFG expansion (I believe that Dragons, Heroes and Creatures were a by-product from the DoW expansion line).

Uh... $35 for three figures and a handful of cards?  Really?

 Should be lots of fun
