I'm a bit late getting in on this topic but I just wanted to support most of what everybody else has said. Personally I like Dunwich Horror a lot - the threat of monsters entering the vortices and rasing the terror track is bad enough but the "Dunwich Horror" itself also brings a feeling of dread to the game.

I also like the KIY - especially when Acts I and II have already come in to play.

Anything easy is more trouble than it's worth!

Out of the all the expansions I found Dunwich to be our favorite here. There are some cool encounter cards and places to visit in Dunwich, and the injury/madness cards are a hoot.

What seemed to be the main document was headed CTHULHU CULT in characters painstakingly written to avoid the erroneous reading of a word so unheard-of.

I don't have any small box expansions but I do have Dunwich and Kingsport. I would (and did) get Dunwich first. It enhances the difficulty a bit, but it isn't overwhelming. Some games I don't even need to travel to the Dunwich board depending on how the cards fall. The additional allies (we can talk about house rules for allies in another thread) are cool, and I consider Injury/Madness cards to be absolutely key to the fun and strategy of the game.

All that being said, I only play with one board expansion at a time and I have more fun with Kingsport. It almost forces the players to send someone across to Kingsport and experience the encounters there. The allies are loads of fun if you get them, and I love the AOs from Kingsport.

OK, this is my first look at the new forum format. I'm nost sure I like it yet. It seems slower to me, but I guess it will be more intuitive once I play with it for a couple of days.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans who will be celebrating the holiday this week. And a big hello to all the other folks from the great nations that participate in this forum.

My vote for Dunwich also!

Five reasons: 1) Additional unstable locations, 2) Injury/madness, 3) Interesting (and somewhat difficult) AO's, 4) DH and vortices - the mechanics and

5) Wizards Hill !!!

There is something in the woods...
