I have been thinking about this, and I am not all that concerned with colors of dice. My players know the difference between d6, d8 and d12. The only way the colors really need to be in play is with Positive and Negative… and even this is not really needed since they have different symbols. I am just doing different colors on those for ease.
I am planning on white dice, Positive Dice with black marks, Negative Dice with red. I am then going to simplify the marks so they can just be drawn on with a permanent marker.
Advantages: circle with single line through it
Triumph: Circle with a cross through it.
Despair: Triangle with a circle around it
Solved. No messing with stickers. All of these symbols are fairly similar to their real counterparts other than Advantages, which I guess you could make a "U" with a dot on top instead.
The only other issue is, keeping in mind the dice colors when looking at rules, but that is pretty simple to remember or review in the book itself.
