1st or 2nd edition
Published on 03 May 2012 - 08:30:01

'lo Boys and Girls,

The question is pretty simple: Should I either buy the 1st edition which has a gazillion of addons yet and which is available atm, or should I hop onto the 2nd edition straight away ?

I'm undecided, pls assisst.

Thanks,

Robert

Well, none of us knows for certain yet, but to me pretty much everything about 2E is looking better than 1E, so I'd say hold out.

Want to use more expansion monsters in a RtL campaign?  Download my dungeon level loadout sheet.  Want more varied and interesting abilities for the heroes?  Have a look at my Craft cards!  After a more thematic Android experience?  Check out Android: The Directors Cut.  Tired of the same old plots?  Try The Directors Cut - Alternate Plots.  Want a different way to play BSG: Pegasus?  Look at Pegasus: Razor Cut.

I say the same thing. After playing a lot of 1E and reading previews about 2E I'd advice to you wait for 2E.

I concur with the others.  Not only will you be getting on at the ground floor, so to speak, but you'll be doing so at MSRP prices, instead of the ridiculously inflated eBay prices 1e seems to be going for.

The only reason to buy up 1e now would be if you REALLY REALLY want the figures to use with 2e's conversion kit, but that's a lot of money if all you want is the plastic.  It would probably be far cheaper to look at proxy figures if you still want the conversion kit.

Don't get me wrong, 1e was a great game despite its flaws and I'm sure there are some veteran players who will stick to what they know rather than upgrade, but really, 2e is better in just about every way from what I've been seeing in the previews so far.
