replace the heart symbol with a broken heart symbol on descent dice for 2 reasons...
Published on 09 October 2011 - 02:39:27

because damages are not life points but damages are the destruction of life points.

because damages must be represented by something that does not seem Valentine's Day

the game is great but please.... change this symbol on dice...a broken heart will be perfect or another symbol with a more rugged style

Oh my God, STOP POSTING!!!

This is the THIRD post on this subject. I love how some people come in here and think that they are far wiser than the game designers, as if everyone is supposed to ascribe to their own world view...

Do you think that FFG can change anything, now, October...? Really? The game is in the factory.

I dont know if the mind of a designer picks up things differently than, lets say, a non-designer, but I have never had problems to relate the heart symbol to losing health in the game.

And before your comment, it never crossed my mind that the hearts would make the game more feminine. Really? Just because we have little heart symbols around the game components?

I bet you would like to ban any pinkish colors from the pallete in game components too, because it would be too feminine? hehe

Sorry to pull your leg on this one, it is that I really cannot understand your reasoning for removing the hearts.

I am used to them in Descent

Hi there!  Welcome to the internet, I hope you're enjoying your stay.  FYI, Arturi is what we typically refer to as a "troll."  He's just saying stupid shit to piss people off.  The best response to these sorts of shenanigans is no response at all, just for future reference.

Sarcasm noted.

I try to keep telling myself to stay away from forums. I'm too easily baited by trolls.

no "it is that I really cannot understand your reasoning for removing the hearts" replace hearth with broken heart to distinguish life from damage

I much prefer a single universal symbol when things are closely related (in this case wounds/damage). If you'd so prefer you can always order some custom dice made for the game.

No need to change something as fundamental as this, when it is only a stylistic change. It's not like it's currently broken, or difficult to interpret, and there's no need to confuse veterans with a pointless alteration.

Is this really any kind of deal?  The heart on a dice represents 'a life'.  It does not mean:

You must buy flowers for your opponent

You are about to be asked on a date

You have been healed

Seriously?  If this is your only complaint, you really need to get out more.  I have hearts on my sheet, when I get hit, I see how many 'hearts' I need to remove.  Simple.

/facepalm

The hearts on the dice could be changed to swords.  I also never had a problem relating the dice hearts to dealing damage.  But it is logical to use something other than hearts for that purpose.  Hearts to reflect hit points is fine and dandy.
