COMMENTS ON MAGNIFICO GAMEPLAY

I am fascinated by this game, but find it hard to find enough people to play such a different, almost non-genre game, as new as it is. Can people who have played it a few times let me know how it compares to simpler games like Risk and other games it has been loosely compared to? What are your opinions of its play and is it too simplistic to last as long as it does? Or is it really an original, different foray into very fun new terrain, worthy of teaching my little cousins so they don't bug me to play braindead Risk all the time?
