I believe they finally found what we need: Character Packs! The new careers are a smart move and the size of the release allows the probability/possibility of actually perhaps including some kind of additional crunch or fluff on inserts.
Smart release IMHO. Now we just need more dice packs for people just getting into the game or for those who hope to grow their groups.

I like it, now they have added both career sized cards and the smaller talent sized ones to the WFRP-POD-line. Meaning that we can hope for small and fun expansions like this in other areas as well. This gives me great hope for the future, as I feel that all the core rules are in place with this game, it would be perfect to flesh it out with expansions that contain a few themed careers, talents, actions, items, diseases and/or other things going forward.
Still hoping for an (high) elf box, but an Elf pod (or two) might do the trick as well.
I like it.

Yuupi, a new POD an it cost only 20$ for a few cards. Almost the half of any big box expansion with a lot of, more cards. Yes, that's mnake everybody happy to pay a lot for almost nothing.
And I think that this POD is a proof of a near end of 3ed. POD is good becouse FFG don't have to print to many of them only that much as they will sell. PODs don't lay in the warehouse or any were becouse they are printed only when ordered by someone. Nad they can make them until they will annouce a new edition.

@Beren, yea you might be right.
But I'm still thrilled with this release. It opens all the doors we were hoping for in regards to PODs. Access to printed content the size of career cards is perfect, opens the opportunity for Maps, Handouts, Careers, Mounts, etc.
I am also quite happy to see them do something other than the Wizard and Priest expansions. As much as i like them, they were lacking variety and were only interesting to a very select group of people.
If i had it my way, I'd like to see more content that a GM can use, like Locations, Mutations, Maps, Handouts, Cheat Sheets, etc.

Yeah, $20 is a bit much here. I was thinking it would be around $10ish. Twenty, though, is way off for 3 careers and 14 actions.
Previous games: Buried, but not Forgotten and Underworld Rising.
Check out both podcasts at Reckless Dice.

… what with an expansion that includes two magic careers and a religious career? :D
I like that they are releasing career PODs, but I can't help but think the necromancer careers have very limited appeal, especailly as they are advanced careers. That being said, despite the high price, I did pick it up, and will seek to find use for it in the future. At the very least, it looks fun.
A career box would be really awesome, though.
Hi,
Nice product I thought. Bit pricey but it could work out having the choice of plenty of small POD options and only buying the ones your group needs. Certainly like the package of more complete career set ups. Good addition for a vampire centric game too. Possibly a demonologists pack to come?
I have a player wanting to play a rat catcher-witch when we start TEW, with the aspiration of raising his rat corpses to do his necromantic bidding. Just in time for my first POD purchase I reckon…
These will be $40 or so at my LGS due to import, sales tax and bastard fees. I'll take $20 and another smaller POD + USPS shipping over the local price ;)

I don't say it's a bad POD but still 20$ is half of the price of a big expansion with a lot of cards and a book. And here we get only a few cards (14 action cards), 3 careers and few small ones. This is too expensive, I would rather see a Undead box for 40$ with this content and a lot more then this POD.

If any of you are interested (and even if you're not), I'll probably do up the 1e and 2e careers that are incomplete (hunter of the dead, grave robber, etc.) and post them to RPGGeek as a LINK to this product.
Any requests?

Yes I too thought wow great, but then $20.00???
Looking at the entire POD line, nothing is this pricey. Even the Mansions of Madness ones (I believe they also have different card sizes) are $15.00.
Get your fur combed out first :) Hey is that a beastman below?

I'd probably pay the 20$ for it, but 38$ shipping & handling to Germany? This will have to wait until retailers in Europe have this in stock.
Up until then, any party member meddling with the dark arts will be hunted down by Eisenfels, my NPC Witch Hunter who suspects the characters anyhow. After all, they always happen to be where the cults and the corruption are. A positive correlation - and we all know that that's as good as causation! ;-)
That is pricey, but i guess (and it is a guess) v3 doesn't move the numbers to justify more competative prices. Pleased to see them expanding the POD range as I was expecting silence after TEW2.
I'm going to join in with the general sense of slow dread that everyone is feeling over this release, timely as it is coming after TEW so quickly, I think we'll all be a lot happier when we see a boxed supplement coming out, but that "when" is really an "if" now.
I would probably get if I found myself with an influx of cash, though I have a few other things I'd like to get my hands on first.
The call of cthulluh huh? Yeah I heard about it too.
"Oh I love you."
"Of course it wasn't just a one night thing."
Do I get a bit of call back?
