i'm trying to put together an adventure for my group- we haven't actually played WHFR yet, because as the GM, i'm still trying to get a grasp on all of the rules, so it runs smoothly when we do play.
my question is: in various bestiary listings, i see a white square next to certain characteristics on monsters. what is this indicative of? for example, in the tome of adventure (pg. 51) it lists an ungor with a toughness of 4, with a white square next to this. what's it for? i'm sure there's a simple answer, i just can't find it.
thanks in advance. :)

It means that they have a fortune die on all checks requiring the specific characteristic.
So an ungor rolling a toughness check for any reason gains a fortune.

i thought it might be that- only thing that confused me is that that fortune bonus shows up even on low stats, like 1 or 2.
thanks for the clarification.
