Tournament Organizer (application)

Hi all

I'm (with help of WWDrakey) starting hobby project for new Tournament organizer application to help our local meta tournaments and just becausee it is fun. I'm curious to hear is there need for this kind of application and what kind of features you would like to have in it?

Roughly main features will be:

  • Player management
  • Table seeding
  • Printable standing
  • Round Timing

First rough sketches can be seen at: http://koti.kapsi.fi/paimen/ I'll add new screens time to time when I get them done. Also I'm planning to do the development in github or similar so I will post the address for that too when I have set it up.

So how this sounds like and any suggestions what this application should include?

Hi and thanks for comments.

I haven't been progressing with this as much as I would have liked. IRL takes just too much time and effort right now. I'm trying to catch up soon and try to design some new screens and start to do actual coding.

No iOs version coming in near future, one reason is I do not have apple devices nor tools to create applications for it.

For deck import. Yes it is planned feature for some future version. My plan is to make it work in two ways. first is blind approach where you import decklist to participant and program just tells is it legal or not, but if needed later for example checking if decklist and deck matches list can be seen. This way person who organizes tournament does not see decklists and can participate in play(for example in small meta tournaments).

Being able to import decks made for octgn would be helpful.

Then people could build decks on cardgamedb export them as octgn files and then import them into your program.

Hi,

Currently status is that this is being my new years resolution and also goal for initial version is set. I'll try to make first initial release this Summer.

I'll start with basic Qt application not yet decided is it widget or QML based, most propably widget based application and I'll target it to run Linux and Windows machines. When I find time to start actual coding I'll post github address here.

It is just draft of starting view without any functionality.

Are they any regionals or FF (fantasy Flight) suppoerted tournaments or are they all local supported games, and what do you get in terms of turnout and prize support? i'm trying to convince my play group to keep playing and to try and find way sto recruit more players, i figured with the suces s of the show the game would start to see some more mainstream attention, gotta strike while the irons hot, is there some way to get in contact with the games designers and advertisment branch? i'd volunteer my time to get the word out because i love the books and i really enjoy the game but it needs some higher levels of competition where im at; NE ohio
