An update is available for the Arkham Horror Toolkit

The most recent updates to the Arkham Horror Toolkit, Miskatonic Horror and the revised The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh, are now available on the iTunes App Store! These expansions greatly enhance an already comprehensive suite of tools designed to enhance your gameplay, reducing setup time and allowing you to focus on your objective–ridding Arkham of the Ancient Ones’ evil.

Two new in-app expansions enrich and simplify your Arkham Horror experience by trimming shuffle time and clearing table space.

Miskatonic Horror Expansion

A recent find at Miskatonic University has unearthed even more mysteries pertaining to the strange happenings in Arkham. While the worshippers of the Ancient One grow in strength, the stalwart defenders of this sleepy town are put to the ultimate test!

The Miskatonic Horror Expansion seamlessly boosts your game with 152 new gate encounters and an astounding 600 new location encounters for Dunwich, Kingsport, and Innsmouth.

The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh Expansion (Revised)

“Know, O Thief, that these things are mine, for I am the Dark Pharaoh, him of the Crawling Chaos. Take what is mine and your blood will boil in your skin, as I reveal to you my Other Faces and my True Glory.” –Whispers of the Dark Pharaoh

The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh Expansion updates your Arkham Horror Toolkit with 135 location encounters and 78 gate encounters from the revised expansion for Arkham Horror.

This update replaces the content from the original The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh expansion and better integrates the expansion with Miskatonic Horror and the rest of the Arkham Horror experience. The revision updates the original expansion’s Barred from the neighborhood mechanic to the improved Patrolled mechanic, and reflects the expansion’s new rules for Benefits and Detriments.

All your favorite dual-color Gate cards remain, and players who already own The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh for their Arkham Horror Toolkit receive a free, automatic update.

The Arkham Horror Toolkit is the latest addition to the Fantasy Flight Games media catalog, now available on the iTunes App Store. This useful app gives gamers a way to utilize the exciting capabilities of their iPhone and iPad when joining their friends to combat the Ancient Ones in Arkham Horror, the classic cooperative board game of Lovecraftian horror.

This highly functional application reduces setup time, saves table space, and provides easy-to-navigate menus to help keep your games of Arkham Horror moving along smoothly. The latest Arkham Horror Toolkit update ensures that users have even more control and more options when exploring the streets of Arkham.

Expand Your Limits

One of the biggest additions to the app is the ability to control how expansion content is added to your game. All of the Arkham Horror expansions to date are available as in-app purchases, giving users access to expansion Location cards and Investigators. While expansion Investigators are always available, the new Version 1.1 update now lets you choose whether or not to add the expansion Location cards to your game, giving you greater customization of your Arkham Horror experience.

A Fist Full of Elder Signs

The dice roller has also been improved with the addition of available presets. Normally users simply press the die icon multiple times to add more dice to the virtual tabletop. Now you can hold your finger on the die icon to bring up the dice preset menu (pictured to the right). Using this menu, you can immediately add from three to ten dice to the table with the touch of a single button.

Finally, the Version 1.1 update also makes the Arkham Horror Toolkit even easier to use, with added features for improved navigation and a streamlined options interface. This makes browsing the available Investigators and navigating the streets of Arkham a breeze. Now is the time to equip yourselves and save Arkham from its impending doom. Pete stumbled back from the bank of the river, falling into a pile of soft leaves, and Duke yipped ferociously at the menacing form emerging from the river. Clutching at the ground in a panic, Pete searched desperately in the darkness for something to throw or swing... anything with which to defend himself.

Arkham’s unlikely heroes have a new weapon in the ongoing fight to keep their streets safe. Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce that the Arkham Horror Toolkit, a convenient digital accessory for the popular Arkham Horror board game, is now available on the iTunes App Store!

A Range of Functions

The Arkham Horror Toolkit is a full suite of tools designed to augment and enhance your Arkham Horror experience. Whether you use the Investigator tool, Dice Roller, Location Deck, Map Display, or all of the above, the Arkham Horror Toolkit will take care of the bookkeeping for you. This wide range of time-saving functions will let you concentrate on what’s most important: ridding Arkham of the dark forces that seek to overtake it.

With the Investigators tool, all the information pertinent to your character is at your fingertips. Choose from any of the base game characters (or those from any expansions you’ve added), or let the Arkham Horror Toolkit select one randomly for you. Then, you can monitor and adjust important stats like Sanity, Health, Money, Clue Tokens, or any of your Skills. You can also quickly access your character’s starting location, possessions, and backstory!

The Dice Roller lets you roll up to fifteen dice at a time, and will clearly display your successes at the top of the screen. It can even be adjusted for when you’re Blessed or Cursed, and you can spend clue tokens (the App remembers how many you’ve earned) to roll additional dice!

The Location Deck tool is perhaps the most time-saving feature of the Arkham Horror Toolkit, as it will conveniently randomize and reveal Location and Gate cards for all of Arkham’s many locales (or for those of any expansions you’ve downloaded). Simply choose your location from the alphabetized list (or change the list to limit it to Other World locations of those of specific expansions), then keep your fingers crossed as the Arkham Horror Toolkit chooses a random result. Including its many expansions, Arkham Horror features hundreds of unique location cards... but with the Arkham Horror Toolkit, you’ll spend less time shuffling, and more time playing!

Finally, the Map function brings the streets of Arkham right to your screen. Use the map as a convenient reference (and add other cities by downloading expansion content), or zoom in to a location and double tap to draw a random Location card!
