Descent Character Creation Contest

by Sally

Last week, FFG announced the First Annual Descent: Journeys in the Dark Figure Painting Contest. The lucky winner of that competition will receive a wonderful selection of Descent goodies. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Terrance, my bubble-gum pink Dragon. However, I know that not every Descent fan has the spare time, raw talent or even simple desire to paint their figures. So how is the average non-painting Joe or Jill supposed to win some sweet Descent prizes? Answer: The Create-Your-Own-Hero Contest!

Earlier this month, Descent: Journeys in the Dark creator Kevin Wilson posted the Build Your Own Hero worksheet. He even included a handy-dandy blank hero card for just such an opportunity. Construct your character using Kevin's worksheet as a guideline. Now here's the most important part: Contestants will be required to write a short biography of 300 words or less for their character. Statistics for health and fatigue are certainly important, but created heroes will be judged primarily on their biography, so get creative!

E-mail your hero's biography and statistics to us. If you'd like to create and send in a picture or drawing of your hero, you are more than welcome to, but this is not a requirement.

The winner of the Create-Your-Own-Hero Contest will receive one of the very first copies of Descent: The Tomb of Ice Expansion, a complete set of four promotional Descent figures and, of course, the adoration and intense jealousy of their peers.
